Your appointment

What to expect

Everything you need to know before, during and after your visit.

  1. Before your appointment

To make the procedure as comfortable and effective as possible, please soften the ear wax in the five days leading up to your appointment.

We recommend applying olive oil drops, or using a spray like Earol, once a day in the affected ear for five days.

Please don't use drops or spray if you have a perforated ear drum.

  2. During your appointment

Your audiologist will begin by discussing your ear health history, then carry out a thorough ear health examination, including taking images of your ear drums. They will then safely and gently remove your wax.

If ear wax removal is found to be unsuitable or unnecessary after the ear health check, the £20 consultation fee will be the only charge.

  3. After your appointment

We recommend keeping your ears clean and dry for the next couple of days.

If you are prone to wax build-up, your audiologist may suggest a follow-up appointment in 3, 6 or 12 months' time.
